What Should You Do?

was the topic for last saturday's youth service... bcuz a few of us went to sg to attend youth spiritual meeting, a couple went to jb, n another few went to other church, so, dat day only got 10 youths during youth service... 4 brothers n 6 sisters ^^

bro. raymond was the speaker n he brought up a very interesting case of "what should you do?"

if you saw sumthing dat is not supposed to happen in church, what should you do? if you see a couple sitting very close to each other and sharing the same headphones, what should you do?
bro. raymond gave us 2 choices.. dos who choose to do nothing, n pretend not to see, sit on the right.. those who wanted or felt that they wanted to do sumthing, sit on the left... in the end, 5 ppl sat on the right, 2 on the left n 1 chose to sit in the middle =.= (of course the speaker n interpreter also sitting in the middle) every1 shared their opinions and thoughts...

bro. raymond connected this situation with Jesus cleansing the temple (Matt 21:12-13). when Jesus saw ppl trading in the temple, he did not wait to drive them out of the temple..
although we live in a different era, the situation is stil the same: if sumthing dat is not supposed to happen in the temple unfolds before your eyes, what should you do? during His time, Jesus chose to immediately stop these things...

of course, we do not have such power n authourity as Jesus.. bro. raymond also asked us to imagine if we were ministers or leaders in the church, would we take other actions? or if we saw sum1 doing such things outside the church compound, wat should we do? at least we could refer the case to the ministers at church...

lets take a different perspective: if you were the brother himself. everybody walks pass him but no1 ever told him anything... he might think that it's not such a big deal.. in the end, he might even blame you for not telling him when you knew he wasn't right...

some1 among us was afraid that if we "adviced" the couple on this matter, they would not want to come to church anymore.. yet bro. raymond said that, if you had chosen to take the correct action, but this brother does not care about his salvation and leaves the church, you are stil right!!

another sister said that we should talk to the brother with love n care about his salvation, not just to "advice" him on what he should not do.. because by feeling the care of others, the brother might be able to better accept the "advice" =)
there are certain things that require courage to be carried out, therefore we must not be afraid...

during this youth service, we also had a mutual promise to each other that when we see other doing things they are not supposed to do, we should advice him/her politely... of course, besides advice, it is important to give praises to other ppl.. a simple thank you can light up one's heart =)

after the service, we played a game: the "water" game.. requires a lot of concentration... it is very hard to describe the game here, i can juz say that my finger was caught by ah kam 3 times =p

this is all for my sharing on last saturday's youth service...
i will be going back to Abraham's time to talk about his department from his country and father's house (Genesis 11:31-12:9) this saturday.. it will be a bible study + sharing session.. very nervous oh~~ =p

signing out...
hallelujah, all glory to our Lord =)
